Brands and Competitors

1 min read

“Are we visible in AI search?” is not answerable with one conversation. Track your brand and its rivals, run a prompt set, and read the share of voice across the whole batch.

Purpose

  • Track how your brands and named rivals appear across captured AI answers, with share of voice.

How to Open

  • Bulk Analysis → the Brands and competitors card → Manage Brands & Competitors.
  • Simple brand-mention tiles also appear in the AI Insights popup tab for the conversation you are viewing.

Setting It Up

My Brands. The brands you want to track. Usually your client and their sub-brands.

Competitors. Rival brands to compare your share of voice against.

Aliases. Each brand takes multiple aliases, which is what makes the matching useful. A brand mentioned as “Acme”, “Acme Corp”, “acme.com” and “ACME Ltd” should count once, and aliases are how you tell it so.

Scope. Configure brands globally, or per project, so each client carries their own competitive set. The card tells you which configuration you are editing.

Reprocess

The important button. Reprocess all conversations re-scans everything you have already captured against the current brand list.

This means you do not need to plan your brand list before you run prompts. Capture first, add brands later, hit Reprocess, and the historic captures get scored against the new list. Change the aliases, Reprocess again.

What You Get

  • Total mentions per brand and per competitor.
  • Share of voice across the tracked set.
  • Mention counts respect whatever Scope, Project and Platform filters the dashboard has applied, so you can read one client, or one platform, in isolation.
  • The Brands section exports to CSV like every other section.

Workflow Wins

  • Give a client a number for AI visibility instead of a screenshot of one lucky answer.
  • Watch a competitor’s share move after they publish a campaign.
  • Catch that you are mentioned often but never cited, which is a different problem from not being mentioned at all.
  • Baseline then repeat. Set up brands, run a saved prompt list, note the split. Re-run the identical list monthly.
  • Be generous with aliases. Misspellings, the legal entity name, the bare domain, product names. Under-matching quietly understates you.
  • Add rivals you expect to lose to. A share-of-voice chart where you win every time usually means the competitor list is too soft.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Brands card says there are no mentions yet? Add brands and competitors, then use Reprocess all conversations. Nothing is scored until you do.
  • Counts look low? Add more aliases and Reprocess.
  • Nothing to compare against? The card needs competitors as well as brands to show a meaningful share.
  • Brand configuration is stored locally in this browser profile, like projects.
