Most reports come down to one of a handful of causes. Work down this list before anything else.
Nothing appears on Google search results
By far the most common one. SERP enhancements are switched off by default. They do not appear until you enable them once.
Run any Google search, find the Sprout panel in the right-hand column, and flip the switch in its header. The setting sticks after that.
If the switch is already on and you still see nothing:
- Check the result type. The widgets appear on standard Google results only. Images, Video, Shopping, News and Books results are excluded.
- Reload the page after enabling, then reopen.
- Check the window width. On a narrow window Google drops its right-hand column, and although the extension creates its own, a very cramped viewport can still squeeze it.
The AI Insights tab is empty
On Google Search: AI Overview capture runs on 17 Google country domains: google.com, .co.uk, .nl, .de, .fr, .es, .it, .ca, .com.au, .co.jp, .com.br, .co.in, .be, .pl, .se, .at and .ch. On any other Google domain nothing will be captured. This is being widened to every Google country domain in the next release. Also check the query actually produced an AI Overview, which tends to need an informational search.
On ChatGPT: you need to be signed in and on an actual conversation. The ChatGPT home screen has nothing to extract yet. Old conversations do work, so you can open a chat from last month and capture it.
On Gemini: capture listens to live traffic. Reopening an old Gemini conversation produces no traffic to listen to, so it falls back to reading the page and finds fewer queries. Capture Gemini conversations while you are having them.
Some sections missing rather than the whole tab? Sections with no data stay hidden instead of showing an empty box. An answer with no shopping results has no Products section. That is normal.
Two things never appear on a reopened chat. Turn intent and live merchant offers are only captured while the answer is streaming. They will not be there if you come back to the conversation later.
Console errors on ChatGPT
Content Security Policy errors in the ChatGPT tab’s console are normal. They come from ChatGPT’s own page, not from the extension, and they do not affect capture.
A bulk run stopped part-way
Bulk runs auto-pause on purpose rather than burning through your list producing nothing:
- 3 consecutive hard failures pauses the run. Usually a ChatGPT rate limit or an expired session. Sign back in and press Resume.
- 5 consecutive answers that never persisted also pauses it. Give ChatGPT a few minutes, then Resume.
- Items marked Timed out exceeded the 180-second per-prompt limit. Use Retry unfinished.
- “This batch is controlled by another Bulk analysis tab” means the run is being driven by a different tab. Only one tab drives a run at a time. Switch to that tab, or stop the run there.
Keep first batches small. Twenty prompts will tell you whether the list is well-formed before you commit to two hundred.
The Bulk Analysis dashboard is empty
You need captures before there is anything to aggregate. Either browse ChatGPT normally with AI Insights open, or start a run from the Run segment.
Brands card empty specifically? Add brands and competitors, then press Reprocess all conversations. Nothing is scored against your brand list until you do, including conversations captured earlier.
The right-click menu is missing
Reload the extension from your browser’s extensions page. The context menu is rebuilt when the extension installs and when the browser starts, so a reload restores it.
Also check you are right-clicking blank page area. The menu is registered for the page, so it will not appear when you right-click a link, an image, or selected text.
The popup shows no data at all
Some pages block extensions from reading them:
- Browser settings pages (
chrome://,edge://,about:) - The browser extension stores
- Local files (
file://) - Pages behind a login wall or SSO gate that has not resolved
Try a regular HTTPS page to confirm the extension is working, then come back.
If the page changed after you opened the popup, reload the page and reopen the popup. Data is captured when the popup opens.
Location override does nothing on Firefox
Expected. The local search simulator’s location override rewrites a request header, and Firefox does not expose the API that needs. On Firefox the language and device overrides still work. Use Chrome or Edge if you need the location override.
Interface is in the wrong language
The extension follows your browser’s display language, not your operating system’s. Change it in your browser settings and restart the browser.
Still stuck?
- Check the Changelog to see whether the behaviour changed in a recent release.
- Confirm you are on the current version from your browser’s extensions page.
- Contact support with your browser, the extension version, and the URL you were on.
